Overview

Dosirock, nestled in the heart of Melbourne on King Street, is a gem for those seeking authentic Korean cuisine with a contemporary twist. This Korean restaurant specializes in rich, hearty dishes centered around pork hock and belly, bringing together tradition and bold flavors in a warm and inviting space. The focus on quality ingredients and genuine recipes makes Dosirock stand out in a city bustling with diverse dining options.

The main attraction here is undoubtedly the Pork Hock & Belly, braised to perfection in a homemade soy sauce with multiple flavor options ranging from classic soy to herb, spicy, and garlic. This dish arrives accompanied by an array of traditional Korean sides such as kimchi, pickled radish, and radish kimchi—all crafted to complement the savory meat. While perilla and sesame leaves are currently unavailable, the thoughtful accompaniments and vegetable wraps still deliver a complete and satisfying experience.

For those who appreciate variety, the Sunday menu offers cold buckwheat noodles served dry, with flavors like sesame or sweet chili that balance the richness of the pork. These noodles bring a refreshing contrast, featuring just the right chewiness and a harmony of sweet and spicy notes. Beyond pork, Dosirock’s seafood offerings, like the seasoned cockle salad paired with buckwheat noodles, showcase the brand’s versatility and commitment to Korean culinary heritage.

Customer experiences at Dosirock consistently reflect a blend of exceptional food quality and welcoming atmosphere. Many frequent diners praise the generous portions, particularly of signature dishes such as Jokbal (braised pig’s trotters) and Bossam (boiled pork wraps), highlighting the tender texture and deep layers of seasoning. The attentive and approachable staff enhance the dining journey, making the restaurant feel more personal and engaging. Celebrations and casual visits alike are met with warmth, as staff go out of their way to create memorable moments.

The dining environment at Dosirock strikes a balanced note between casual and cozy, ideal for both intimate meals and small group gatherings. Its location in Melbourne’s bustling culinary precinct makes it accessible for locals and visitors keen on exploring Korean flavors beyond the usual staples. Whether one is craving comforting fried chicken, the intricate spice of Mara Spicy Hock Soup, or the unique texture of Tteokbokki and Korean fried corn, Dosirock’s menu satisfies a broad spectrum of palates.

We ordered the Bossam & Jokbal set. Who doesn’t like K-Jokbal? Spicy + original flavor is my best choice. It was also a great value. After the two of us finished, we even got two takeaway boxes. The cheese egg rolls were delicious. My friend and I celebrated the birthday, and the staff helped us take a photo (only walk-in on weekends

I already knew this place was popular for Hock and Belly, but today I tried the Mara Spicy Hock Soup and completely fell for it. On top of that, the manager (or maybe the owner?) was incredibly kind, fun and friendly — he made the whole dining experience extra warm and welcoming. With such a pleasant experience, I’d definitely come back.

Wandered into this hidden Korean joint. Ordered the Jokbal & Bossam combo. It was incredible generous in portion and more importantly, delicious, tender and well seasoned. Partner did a happy meat dance when you both saw and tasted the jokbal. How on earth do other tables of 2 order this AND other dishes?!? We order the naengmyeon as well. The nicely balanced cold and tanginess of the buckwheat noodles balanced the meats nicely. Enjoyed the meal.

I had the braised pork trotters and the Korean cold noodles here, and both were amazing! The pork trotters were super tender, flavourful, and not greasy at all. The cold noodles were refreshing with a nice chewy texture, perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The portion sizes were generous and the staff were really friendly. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving authentic Korean food. Highly recommended!

The space, décor, and lighting feel exactly like a Korean restaurant, super authentic. Portions are huge and really good value for the price. My group of three ordered one Jokbal Set (Original Jokbal + Spicy Jokbal) and the Seafood Tteokbokki Stew (Spicy Level 1). Total bill was AUD 93, and since we paid cash, we got a 10% discount. - Jokbal: Fresh, tender pork. The Original version doesn’t come with sauce, so you can really taste the natural flavor of the meat; but it does get heavy after a while. The spicy sauce isn’t very spicy; it leans sweet, but still quite addictive. It comes with lettuce and panchan, but not enough to match the amount of meat. But jokbal gets cold and firm pretty fast, so make sure to eat it right away for the best texture. - Seafood Tteokbokki Stew: Since we picked level 1, it was basically not spicy at all. The pot was packed with toppings: squid, clams, shrimp, fishcake balls, and fishcake slices. Nothing tasted fishy, but nothing had that super fresh sweetness either. This spot is best for group hangouts or big gatherings: great value and you get to try more dishes together.
